The first Marvelous Monday was dubbed a success! This program had its opening day on September 28th. With over 93% of the participating students present, the overall climate was quite positive. To start the day off with a bang, principals, teachers, and students worked together to create a high energy opening assembly. This event was filled with a Wayne's World parody, singing, dancing, and a motivational speech from Dr. Kenneth Estes while skating in roller blades. It was definitely a great way to begin the day.

For those who are unaware of the Marvelous Monday Program and its purpose, it is to provide students with the training needed to pass the state mandated TAKS tests. To keep students engaged, teachers were asked to offer lessons that were upbeat and interactive. Thankfully, AHS teachers fulfilled their end of the deal, and students seemed to really enjoy the smaller groups, fun learning experiences, and relaxed campus atmosphere.
